Homeless veterans are found in every city of the Americas, from Northern America to South America. These are men and women who have fought for their country to ensure that the residents of that country remain free and able to live life under a secure roof with safety. Unfortunately, in the United States of America, some homeless veterans do not have that safety. Homelessness is when an individual or family lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night-time residence, such as those living in emergency shelters, transitional housing, places that are not meant for habitation for they are at risk of losing their residence for habitation, for they are fleeing from domestic violence for abuse in the home where they were living previously. 

There should never be a sentence where homeless and veteran are paired, however, across America there are lots of homeless veterans. According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 2023 35,574 veterans experienced homelessness in the United States alone. This is a 7.4% increase from 2022, which was 20,067 veterans who were homeless in that year. Since 2010 the number of veterans experiencing homelessness in the United States has declined 52%. 

Veterans who experience sheltered homelessness often live in emergency shelters, transitional housing, or other supportive settings. In awareness, Veterans who experience unsheltered homelessness live in places not meant for human habitation such as their cars, parks, sidewalks, abandoned buildings, and literally on the streets of the cities. 

The experience of homelessness alone is already harmful to a veteran’s health, mind, body, and soul. However, unsheltered homelessness amongst veterans is even worse, with research showing that unsheltered individuals often reported more significant negative health conditions than those who are sheltered. 

Veterans Admiration and organizations like the QSA Foundation have made supporting unsheltered veterans a top priority, both as part of their 2024 Homelessness goals and inside initiatives. Over 34,498 unsheltered veterans have been engaged to ensure they have the items they need, they have access to shelters, and housing resources they need. The Veterans Administration’s goal last year was to engage 28,000 unsheltered veterans, this goal was exceeded.

The QSA Foundation is a 501C3 that helps homeless Children and Military Families 

Around the World, our target has been in the following states MI, KY, TN, NC & CO.

The QSA Foundation raises money for the Homeless through:

• Hosting fundraising events, where the profits of tickets and merchandise go to needed items requested by cities and homeless providers. 
• Selling of items made by the homeless during workshops and self-help events.

The QSA Foundation is known for blending education with popular, entertaining, mission-conscious events and products. Military organizations & Members of the NFL regularly represent at their events, and people attend their events from all over the world.

The QSA Foundation hosts events that help homeless veterans find resources such as Veteran Administration Assistance, Housing Assistance, free haircuts, showers, dental evaluations, legal assistance, toiletries, coats, blankets, and other assistance and items.
